Since 2010, the Garesio family has acquired approximately 64 hectares of land, 21 of which under vines, divided among Serralunga d’Alba, the heart of Barolo, Perletto in Alta Langa, Incisa Scapaccino and Castelnuovo Calcea in Monferrato. Along with the vineyards, the Garesio family has undertaken the job of renovating and upgrading an old farmstead in Serralunga d’Alba. The aim of this top quality hospitality project is the creation of a place where wine becomes a daily experience, a full immersion in the flavors, nature, traditions and history of an area designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2014.

Balance, respect, and a deep understanding of vines and vineyards: Garesio “raw” material is naturally excellent. Each plot of land within the property has its own identity card and its own development, which is encouraged without excessive interference or manipulation. Their Nebbiolo vineyards are certified organic, an act of love and devotion towards one of the world’s rarest and most prized terroirs; the other vineyards are managed according to sustainable viticulture.

Winemaking: VINEYARD: Grapes from the area of the Nizza appellation. Yield after careful thinning out not more than 65 quintals per hectare. VINIFICATION: Manual selection of the grapes. HARVEST TIME: September. Fermentation and maceration at low temperature in contact with the skins for about 25 days, pumping over and délestage. AGEING: in French oak barriques for around 18 months. The ratio of used and new woods varies in accordance with the characteristics of the wine, normally around 10% of new wood used. Further aging in the bottle for about 5 months before going on sale.

Organoleptic Characteristics

  • Colour: Ruby red color with purple highlights.
  • Nose and flavour: Intense and complex bouquet of red fruit, typical of the variety. Hints of strawberries, cherry and sour cherries preserved in liquor. The taste is well-balanced, presenting great structure and freshness. The taste is velvety, harmonious, fresh and with sustained acidity, presenting a grand and pleasant finish. Excellent balance between fruity aromas and alcoholic warmth.

  • Recommended with: It perfectly pairs with flavorful pasta dishes with meat sauce, main dishes with red meat or roasted and braised meat. It also goes well with aged, spicy and blue cheeses.
