Mamoiada is a town of 2600 inhabitants located in the heart of Barbagia, at the foot of Gennargentu and Supramonte. Its territory is hilly, with an average altitude of 736 meters above sea level. The main production activity is viticulture. The winery is located in the town of Mamoiada and the vineyards in its countryside.

The company has 15 hectares of vineyards in Cannonau in the countryside of Mamoiada. This territory is recognized as highly suited for the cultivation of these vines. The production philosophy of the company is to cultivate the vineyards in full respect of the land and the environment, following the course of nature.

Winemaking: VINEYARD: Vine training system: Alberello. VINIFICATION: from grapes in organic conversion, harvest period: October. Fermentation and maceration for around 15 days. AGEING: in 40h barrels for about 12 months. Further ageing in the bottle for about 3 months before going on sale.

Organoleptic Characteristics

  • Colour: Ruby red.
  • Nose and flavour: Notes of ripe fruit, plum and cherry, and slightly spicy hints of myrtle, vanilla, and white pepper.
  • Taste: In the mouth it is welcoming, generous and very long. A tannic texture of great softness delineates the traits up to a closure on the fruit, of great persistence.

  • Serving Temperature and Food Matching Serving temperature: 16-18°C.
  • Recommended with: Rich preparations based on red meat and very mature cheeses.
